Green Car Journal will be awarding the “Green Car of the Year” at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show on November 19. Finalists competing for the award are the 2016 Audi A3 e-tron, Chevy Volt, Honda Civic, Hyundai Sonota, and Toyota Prius. Since 2005, Green Car Journal has honored the most important green vehicles and every year the number of contenders increases.
The 2016 Green Car of the Year contenders each makes a strong environmental impact in their own distinctive way. Audi will have its first electrified model nominated, A3 e-tron. The second-generation Chevy Volt that can now travel up to 53 miles in electric mode. Toyota will have its fourth-generation Prius, Honda Civic will be recognized for its hybrid-like fuel economy, and the Sonota for its hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains.
Deciding factors will be based on efficiency, emission levels, overall performance and affordability.
The hybrid industry much like the solar industry share values essential to achieving important environment goals.
